DOWN BY THE RIVER Chapter 20
by Aashid

The smell penetrates the senses on the brain
Give them something to remember you with
A mind would be a good beginning
In the corner of my eye I can see
A shimmer beneath the summer green foliage
A few more steps and I'll be down by the river
In the cool, cool, water
Yemanjah calls me and I cannot resist
I dive into the water and swim all around
Suddenly I noticed, the fish were all around me
As if they were waiting for an answer or a plea
In the obscure and ancient distance
I can clearly hear them say
"Your days are numbered human
Would you please throw some love our way
Don't eat us, we have families just like you
They'll be deeply hurt if we disappear
Into the dark recesses of your cells
We are flesh baring animals and so are you
Let's not consume each other
The blood of the lamb is not the juice of the fruit
We must respect each other"
Even though we are from different species
Blood borne life systems are a necessity
In the continuance of our basic functioning
Worship the life force in its universal grandeur
Wash your hands in the blood of a dragon
Rest your head on a pillow of light
Soak your feet in the holy water
Let happiness shine through
Improve on good enough
And let well enough go home
Home to be with the ancestors
Home to be with the Gods
Home to be with the very Most High
Circumstances are headed this way
Prana rushes into the ones who know
Energy rushes out with a greeting
What is the meaning of a rushing river?
Sit down and I'll tell you after it passes by
The waves and the ripples are talking to us
And I can hear the lonely cry
One by one we smother and die
